Before its over......its begun

The ASP have just released the schedule for the World Tour next year, and this years tour hasn't even finished yet, although you could argue that Ke11y has already put a lid on the tour for this year.
So here it is the schedule for the 2012 season:

2012 ASP World Title Series:Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast – Australia (February 25 – March 7, 2012)
Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach – Australia (April 3 – 14, 2012)
Billabong Rio Pro – Brazil (May 9 – 20, 2012)
Volcom Pro Fiji – Fiji (June 3 – 16, 2012)
Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay – South Africa (July 11 – 22, 2012)
Billabong Pro Teahupoo – Tahiti (August 16 – 27, 2012)
Quiksilver Pro New York – USA (September 2 – 14, 2012)
Hurley Pro at Trestles – USA (September 15 – 23, 2012)
Quiksilver Pro France – France (September 26 – October 6, 2012)
Rip Curl Pro Portugal – Portugal (October 7 – 17, 2012)
Billabong Pipe Masters – Hawaii (December 8 – 20, 2012)

As you can see there i no search event this year, Rip Curl saying that they will be back in 2013 for a bigger and better search event, will wait and see on that one.
Also NYC stays in the schedule, they had good waves this year and i can see how it pulls more money and spectators in, but lets hope they good conditions for next year.
Rio is also a keeper for next season, seems that they are trying to bring surfing to the masses, as we can't all afford to get to Tahiti to watch the pros, or to the other new addition The Volcom event in Fiji, but at least a lot of the other locations on tour have a high populus near by.
There is also murmors of drug testing for next season aswell, this rang alarm bells for alot of the surfers. Some have been quoted as using steroids to increase their healing rates after an injury. So this could have some impact for some surfers.
All in all it looks like another interesting year for the worlds best surfers, will Ke11y come back for 12, maybe not, the marketing doesn't quite work, Ke12y, nah dont think even Quiks could pull that one off.
Will Bobby Martinez's rant become true, will the ASP dream tour turn into the dream tennis tour?
well its a few months off and don't forget we still have the triple crown of surfing to watch in the meantime, first event is the REEF event, which as usual will also have a Miss Reef Comp,

and in the meantime the lovely Leila from reef will show you one of the hotspots near the comp........
