HILLS AND THRILLS.....

So after the park building we decided to hit the mountains. The snow had been falling and now it was bluebird. A motley crew was formed of myself, Gaz, J-Dub, Fox and Spout. It was a spot they had been before and a promise of a short hike for rich rewards was made. As you can see from the vid, we did pretty well......apart from me, still got the bruises!!!!

MAKING THE MOST OF THE SNOW!

Well they forcast some good snow, and it came. We spent a couple of days getting the site ready for the snow, built in a small rail and also a tiny jump. Was only going to work if we got the snow, and being in Abersoch it is rare to get any decent snow.
But on the first day of snow there was enough to ride, and then by the second day we had more than enough.
with a bit of piste bashing from the resident park maintenance staff, John and Dan, we were ready to go.
It was very satisfying riding your own private park, and now with no more snow forcast its time to make the most of it!!
There was a few good stacks on the test runs but by the end of the day it was smiles all round, even time for a quick cup of tea on the hill!!

Will there be any surf ever again?

Well its a good question, some would say no, but i believe in being posistive. I am hoping we may get something worth riding this saturday coming, wind could be a bit dodgy but it may be offshore on some beaches.
These guys have a bit of swell coming our way for early next week, and hopefully that will break this cycle of easterly winds and no waves.

In the meantime its mind surfing and watching surf dvd's, which always winds me up.

If you are down this weekend on a hope of a splash then pop in and say hello!

Found this article while i was cleaning up my flat, sort of made sense!

Somethings Missing:

I return phone calls, i pay bills, i run errands, i do the dishes. Everything gets taken care of. Not a task left unchecked. My girlfriend sees me, My Parents see me. All personal affairs get filled and organized. I can sing freely along the crowded freeways to and from work knowing that i am caught up. The breeze feels good, the stars are bright and the sun is warm. I hear things like " wow, haven't seen you in a while, Where have you been?" My hair gets washed, i have a drink, i get out, I'm social, everything seems just dandy. And yet something is missing. Waves. These affairs have been handled because mother nature has given me a break. The dreaded flat spell serves as an organizer. I don't necessarily enjoy the separation period she imposes on our relationship but it gives me a chance to rebuild all the bridges that i have burned in her name. But now there is this big purple blob on the surf report radar, scheduled to make landfall on Wednesday. Once that hits its all over, back to scrambling to work with salt crusted eyebrows, hair soaking wet, sandy cold toes stuffed into used socks and a pocket full of excuses for tardiness. Back to wetsuit tan lines and underarm rashes. My existence on land once again nears extinction. Life is once again cluttered unorganised and totally in shambles, and for some reason i can't stop smiling!. "

Showcasing some amazing surf photography!

Surfing New Places

Surfing new places is exciting, you never know when is the best time to get there, what state of tide, is the swell big enough?, and is it going to be flat.
But sometimes the trip is worth the effort. Get out there and find yourself a new spot to surf, the trip is sometimes the adventure not just the waves you get at the end, and remember, always show the locals some respect.
