Glasfryn Wakepark Opens again for the season with a bang!!!

We will once again be supporting the Wakeboard Open at Glasfryn Wakepark this spring, see below for all the details,

Spring Open at Glasfryn Parc

Glasfryn Parc Announce an Opening Season Competition and 3 New Features!

Glasfryn Wake Parc will host the Spring Wakeboard Open on the 2nd April 2011. The fun and grass root style contest is designed for all standards of riders and there will be 5 divisions to cater for everyone. Glasfryn Wake Parc will be cracking the champagne on their brand new wake park features! That’s right, not content with the awesome Relentless Leviathan and Kicker they have teamed up with Industry Wake Parks to create 3 new features. There will be 2 wall rides and a new flat bar!

The wall rides will be positioned to each side of the start dock on the smaller System 2.0 lake meaning you can hit the walls instead of turning around! This is the first obstacle of its kind in the UK and is only possible since the invention of the System 2.0. The walls will have stall pipes at the top so riders can either stall or ollie out of the top before re-entering the wall and continuing to ride. The new features mean Glasfryn Wake Parc will now have 2 System 2.0’s, The Relentless Leviathan, a kicker, 2 wall rides and a flat bar!

The Spring Wakeboard Open is a grassroots event which is aimed at all standards of riding, there will be five divisions; juniors (under 16), ladies, rookies, open men and wakeskate. The best crash of the day will also be awarded with a prize! Even if you have only just learnt to ride the Spring Wakeboard Open is for you. It is all about getting riders together and helping each other progress, learn new tricks and most importantly have fun and meet like minded people. What a great way to start the season!

Glasfryn Wake Parc will be open from 5th March 2011 and to make sure you can get your practice in, they have a special offer on for all of March, buy 5 rides and get 1 for free!

There will be evening entertainment at the Glasfryn activity centre which includes a bar, ten pin bowling and live music. The famous Glasfryn Go-Karts will open throughout the day along with a farmers market.

Glasfryn Wakeparc is the first wake park to open in Wales and opened in July 2010 and is part of Glasfryn Parc, a large activity centre on the A499 just outside Pwllheli, North Wales, and only is 15 minutes from Abersoch. During the Spring Wakeboard Open all of Glasfryn’s other activities will be available including their go karts, quad bikes, ten pin bowling, soft play centre, bar, cafe and a farmers market from 10am – 3pm.
